This post provides an update on the content that can be discovered through the Virtual Language Observatory ( ) by highlighting a number of interesting recent additions.

Since the release of version 4.0 many small enhancements and improvements 'under the hood' have been introduced, as well as a few more prominent changes. In this blog post we provide a brief overview of a number of changes that might interest users and data providers.
Version 4.0 of the was released last week, and one of the primary (and probably most eye-catching) changes is the major user interface overhaul that has been carried out since the previous release.
The facted browser, now at its new host vlo.clarin.eu, has been upgraded to version 3.3. The major addition to this version is the support for advanced querying.
The new Virtual Language Observatory features user interface refinements, mapping improvements – including the addition of a new facet that helps with finding resources with specific availability levels – and a revised search result ranking strategy.
Earlier this week, we released a new minor version of the Virtual Language Resource (
