Presenter Guidelines

Presenters are advised to take a look at the Presenter Guidelines. Here you will find information about sending your slides to the organizers, available equipment, et cetera.

The CLARIN Bazaar

The CLARIN Bazaar is an informal space where you can meet people from other centres and countries, find out about their work in progress, exchange ideas, and talk to people about future collaborations. The bazaar will provide an informal setting for conversations with CLARIN people, and space to show your work to colleagues on their laptop computer, and distribute handouts and leaflets.

It is no longer possible to sign up for a 'stall'. If you are curious, take a look at who will take part in the Bazaar this year.

The bazaar is scheduled for Tuesday 19 September 2017, 15:00-16:00.

What to do with the paprika you brought home from Budapest?

Did you notice that you received a local present? Each conference bag contains two small bags of paprika. Paprika is very popular in the Hungarian cuisine. In fact, the word paprika is Hungarian. It derived from the Serbo-Croatian word 'pàpar', meaning 'pepper'. No idea how to use it? Try this recipe for stew/gulyás/goulash from a well-known Hungarian food blogger and former diplomat.

How to get there

BY AIR

Hungary has one airport, Ferihegy, located right at the city border.

Transport from the Ferihegy Airport to Danubius Hotel Flamenco is possible in several ways.

By taxi

Főtaxi is the official transport partner of the airport. Reservations can be made in person at the Főtaxi booths located at the exits (outside the building) at Terminals 2A and 2B. Taxis are parking continuously waiting for passengers. (Please, be sure to use these official booths but by all means avoid taxis bearing no company name. These free-lancers, though they are licenced and they look just like the others, are notorious for ripping off foreign customers.)

There is a fixed taxi tarrif in Hungary, so a ride to the hotel should typically cost around 7500-8500 HUF (25-28 EUR) depending on traffic conditions.

All cars are equipped with a POS terminal, therefore credit cards are also accepted.

More information here.

By minibus/airport shuttle

Airport shuttle service is also available from Ferihegy. You can book the minibus online.

By public transport

It takes about 1 hour to get from the airport to the hotel. From 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., bus number 200E commutes between Terminal 2 and the Kőbánya-Kispest metro terminal (metro line M3). From the Kőbánya-Kispest metro terminal take metro M3, and at Kálvin tér change to metro line M4 (direction: Kelenföld vasútállomás) and get off at Móricz Zsigmond körtér.

Here you can walk (around 800 meters) along Villányi út, and turn left after the park, to Tas Vezér utca, as you can see in the map here.

At Móricz Zsigmond körtér (after getting off metro line M4) you can also take the tram 61 (direction: Budagyöngye), for 2 stops, and get off at Tas Vezér utca. From there you will see the signs of the hotel. You can find the map here.

You can also plan your route online, just type Airport for departure and Danubius Hotel Flamenco for arrival.

NEW!

On 7 July the public transport company launched a new direct bus line, 100E, connecting the airport with the city center (Deák tér). The easiest way is to take bus 100E at the airport. It stops at the BKK bus stop at the airport between the two terminals on the arrival level.
Get off at Deák tér (final stop, 40 mins), and change for tram 49 (in the direction of Kelenföld vasútállomás) travel 7 stops (14 mins) and get off at Kosztolányi Dezső tér. (Basically you can change to tram at all the stops of the bus, they use the same route on this short section.)
Walk to the hotel (about 400 meters, 5 mins). You can find the route plan here

Attention! A special ticket must be purchased for bus 100E for 900 HUF – other tickets or season tickets are not valid for this service.

Tickets for public transportation priced 900 HUF and 350 HUF are available at the airport from BKK at its customer service points.
If you choose the route above, you will need a 900 HUF ticket and a normal 350 HUF single ticket.

Tickets

Tickets for public transportation priced 350 HUF are available at the airport from BKK (the Budapest public transport company) at its customer service points, from the post office, the newsagents (Relay) and from ticket machines at the bus stop. It is also possible to purchase a ticket from the bus driver for 450 HUF.

The post office is located on the mezzanine level of Terminal 2A, where 24 and 72-hour, weekly and monthly travel passes for Budapest public transport are also available.

Newsagents only sell single tickets, 10-piece ticket booklets and short section tickets.

At the Tourist Information – Budapest Info Point counters located on the arrivals levels of Terminals 2A and 2B, 24, 48 and 72-hour Budapest Cards are also available, which, in addition to numerous discounts, offer unlimited use of public transportation during the period of validity.
