Dr. Benoît Sagot is Senior Researcher in Natural Language Processing and Computational Linguistics at Inria Paris, France. His main research interests are in neural language models, machine translation and text simplification, multimodal , morphosyntactic analysis and parsing and development of lexical resources for French and other languages.  He is head of the ALPAGE (2014-2016) and ALMAnaCH (2017-) research teams which specialise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Digital Humanities (DH). He is holder of a chair in the PRAIRIE research institute (2019–2024). He has rich experience in leading national research programmes and projects as well as lecturing experience at ENS Cachan, Paris, France (since 2017) and Université Paris-Diderot, Paris, France (2009-2015). He is also co-founder of the Verbatim Analysis (2009-) and opensquare (2016-) Inria start-ups.
