Every month, CLARIN publishes a newsflash with an overview of what has been happening at CLARIN, the national consortia, etc. The newsflash is published on Wednesdays, usually the last Wednesday of the month.

1. Submissions
You are welcome to submit a news item with CLARIN-related news to us. To make sure our Newsflash remains interesting for the subscribers of the CLARIN Newsflash we have some tips and guidelines below, which will help you to provide your input in such a form that the content is clear, interesting and useful.

3. Content and Editorial Guidelines
Make sure the news item you submit is:
- Relevant – it relates directly to the reader’s research field and topics they care about.
- Interesting – it entertains, educates or delights the reader.
- Valuable – it teaches the reader or provides them with something they find useful.
- should be between 60-100 words
- should include an informative title for the item
- Include a link to a full news item on the CLARIN website or external web page.
- We have created a set of recognisable banners for each category. That said, you are welcome to include a related image (items in all other sections are shared without an image), which we may include in the banner. Images must fall into one of these categories:
- own work—i.e. you took the photograph, created it yourself;
- freely licensed;
- public domain;
- fair use.
- should include a short one-sentence summary
- should include an informative title for the item
- Include a link to a full news item on the CLARIN website or external web page.
- Include dates and deadlines (if any)
- Spelling. CLARIN uses British English spelling. Note that verbs take the -ise ending (i.e. realise), and nouns should end in -our (i.e. behaviour) and -re (i.e. centre).
- Punctuation. Use hyperlinks for additional information in online texts, not brackets or footnotes.
- Plain English. We aim for simple, straightforward writing that avoids unnecessary complexity to ensure accessibility for a wide range of users.

CLARIN will use any personal information provided for distributing the CLARIN Newsflash only. We use MailChimp as our newsletter distribution platform. The information provided by you is transferred to MailChimp for processing in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms.
